International Fortress Council

Founded in 1989 as an International organization for cooperation in the field of fortresses, fortifications and other military architecture to promote and coordinate the interests of the member organizations and to encourage in general the recognition of fortresses, fortifications and other military architecture as part of the national and international cultural heritage.

Activities
-   To create public awareness by organizing events in and on fortresses and fortifications.
-   To make inventories and cover the entire area of a state.
-   To be open to the public at large.
-   To be independent of public
